The monument is located in an island where there are a lot of lands that are sticking out from the land. This area represent the idea of Controlled Chaos and Negative Space. The act that the landform isn't level gives the idea of Chaos happening on the ground level. Because of the pillars, there are gaps that are created. These gaps represent Negative Space. The idea of Controlled Chaos is also reinforced by the fact that there are area where the pillars aren't as dense as other place, and surrounded by the green grass path.
The monument express the idea of Controlled Chaos by exposing it's complexity but the shape is not too abstract. Negative Space is presented by the fact that there are bits of the monument that are missing. The monument is placed in the area where the density of the pillars is the highest to present the connection between the abstract shape of the monument and the landform, which represent chaos. At the same time, the area where it's placed is more level compared to the surroundings, which gives the idea of Negative Space.
